Join the Speakers Bureau

Are you looking for opportunities for public speaking experience outside of your Toastmasters club?  Are you interested in showcasing and promoting the benefits of the Toastmasters program?  Then please read on...

Please review the District 7 Speakers Bureau Policy and Guidelines below and then update your online profile.

By joining the District 7 Speakers Bureau you agree to the following terms:

1. You are a current Toastmasters member in good standing of a club that is in good standing. Your dues are paid.
2. You have attained at least CTM/CC status.
3. You agree to NOT accept any form of payment (other than reimbursement of expenses or a donation in the form of a check addressed to District 7 Toastmasters) for speaking engagements directly received through the D7 website where you will be introduced as or considered to be a representative of Toastmasters.
4. If you accept a speaking engagement, you agree to make that opportunity your top priority for the scheduled date. Even in the case of an emergency, you will make every effort to contact other members of the D7 Speakers Bureau to find a substitute speaker immediately.
5. You alone are responsible for making contact with the booking company or organization for any engagement, postponement or cancellation of any speaking engagements.
6. You agree to provide the D7 Speakers Bureau Chair with written notice (by e-mail) of the date, location, time and contact for each speaking engagement booked as a result of the Bureau.
8. You agree to to mention Toastmasters somewhere in your presentation and direct audiences to the d7Toastmasters.org web site for more information whenever possible.
9. You agree to grant the D7 Speakers Bureau Executive Committee the complete authority to approve or reject your application for inclusion. In the event of rejection, you will be notified of specific reasons for disapproval.
10. You agree to grant the D7 Speakers Bureau Executive Committee the complete authority to terminate my membership if I am in violation of any of these terms.

Still interested?  Great, let's get started.

In order to join the Speakers’ Bureau, you need to have a profile.  This entails a few minutes of your time to create a profile. Why??? Have you met someone at TLI or a conference and all you can remember is their first name? Well the D7 member’s page is sorted by first name and in this way you can quickly reconnect when something comes up without going through the entire District database.

Go to the Home Page,  on the left hand side of the screen, click on register , follow the directions, fill in the blanks and make sure you activate the “Speakers’ Bureau” Tab.  After you update your Speakers Bureau Profile, send an email to the D7 Speakers Bureau Chair notifying them of your status.

For help on updating your profile, check out the Q&A session.
