Immediate Past Governor Scott StevensonScott's Toastmasters journey began in 1997 when he found that his new job had the expectation of his making presentations to the company's senior management each and every week – yikes! He discovered a Toastmasters club was meeting in the same building that he worked in, and his partnership with Toastmasters was quickly forged. As his communications and leadership skills developed, so did his commitment to the organization and the principles for which it stood. In addition to having served in every club officer position multiple times, Scott has also served at the district level as the database coordinator for many years, and as the webmaster for the Region I TM website. He has also served (3) terms as an area governor, a term as Willamette Division Governor and most recently, as the District 7 Lt. Governor Education & Training for the 2007-2008 year. Outside of the work and Toastmasters environments, Scott is best known for his passion towards all things sailing. He cruises his sailboat up and down the Columbia River, and also the Oregon and Washington coastal communities. He also races his boat during the summer on the Columbia, and has been known to volunteer to crew on sailboats boats racing from Oregon to Canada and other remote destinations. Scott and his wife Kathy live in West Linn, where they provide a comfortable base location for their (3) children, (6) grandchildren, a variety of pets-du-jour, and a catamaran. |
